Northwest Ohio Response

Severe storms swept through northwestern Ohio on June 6, impacting more than 500 hundred families in Fulton, Wood, Lucas and Ottawa counties. Five people have been confirmed dead, multiple injuries have been reported, buildings and vehicles have sustained damage and more than 1600 homes and business are without power.   


Bottled water and transportation has been made available to those in need.  Chainsaw crews are on alert and ready to deploy, as are additional early response teams.  Trained spiritual and emotional care providers will provide spiritual care at the local level for the families who lost loved ones.

Ironton, OH Response

Ironton, Ohio was recently hit with heavy rain that caused severe flooding, and numerous families are experiencing water damage to their homes.  Others are experiencing mud slides or are in need of housing.   

Financial assistance is needed for clean-up and debris removal.  Donations may be sent to Lutheran Disaster Response Ohio at 750 E. Broad St., Columbus, Ohio 43205.  Please write Ironton in the memo line.

June 4 Update
More than 110 homes have been impacted by flooding in Lawrence County, near Ironton, Pike County near Waverly, and rural Adams County.  Chesterland in Geauga County has over 25 homes flooded by the isolated thunderstorms this week.  Volunteers, monetary and in-kind donations, and spiritual care is needed.  If you are able to volunteer in any of these areas, please call 740-509-1132.



Yazoo City, MS Response
